Learning how to nurture trees using technology!
Friday 3rd May, St John Bosco Arts College, Liverpool, UK, welcomed the Tree Council into school to help year 7 Planet Protectors and Faith in Action students to learn about the trees in our school and how we can look after them more. Our aims in the Alliance include developing our green areas so we learnt how to look out for signs that we need to look after our trees e.g. waterlogging or lichen which might suggest diseases. We also have an aim to develop our small ecosystems in school, so using microscopes, we looked at species that were living in our tree barks. We also placed some of the upcycled bird feeders in our trees to make sure the birds get the food they need! We had a great day and cannot wait to develop our plans further.
