The six-day program designed under the theme “Save Our Planet Home” provided an opportunity for the young scouts and guides to experience and learn various activities of adventure, skills and discipline with sessions based on the theme to spread the message and translate the thematic activities into action, making and sustaining a green and clean environment.

Boscoree is a quadrennial mammoth gathering of Scouts and Guides from Salesian Institutions from all over India with Don Bosco, the patron saint and Baden Powell, the founder of the Scout Movement, as mentors and inspirational icons. It was conceived with the idea to bring all Don Bosco Scouts and Guides troops together to experience adventure and service and celebrate unity in diversity with one goal – to be the agent of a better India and the world. The activities for the nearly 100 troops are held in 10 Sub-camps, ensuring the campers’ participation.

The 1st National Boscoree was held in 1974 at Doddaballapur, Karnataka, while the last one, the 13th National Boscoree, was held in 2018 at Nashik, Maharashtra.

As the Salesian Province of Guwahati is commemorating the Centenary of the Arrival of the first Salesian Missionary (1922-2022) in North East India, the 14th National Boscoree 2022-23 is a part of the Centenary Celebration hosted by the Salesian Province of Guwahati.
