The Provincial of East Africa inaugurates the planting of 400 trees at the 'Don Bosco Embu Technical Institute', Kenya

Embu, Kenya - October 2023 - Fr T.J. George, Provincial of East Africa (AFE), and Fr Erastus Chege, Provincial Economer (AFE), visited the "Don Bosco" community in Embu from 18 to 20 October 2023. At the Salesian mission- which consists of a Secondary Technical School, a National Aspirantate and a modern farm - Fr T.J. George and Fr Erastus Chege interacted with the staff and students and were touched by their friendliness and spontaneity. On the occasion, the Provincial inaugurated planting of no less than 400 trees, which involved all the students of the 'Don Bosco Embu Technical Institute' and is part of the Salesian Vocational Training Centres' environmental sustainability project 'Green TVET Program', supported by 'Don Bosco Tech Africa'. The forest that will be created because of this intervention will be named after the late Fr Richard Mtui, SDB, who served this community as Bursar.
