New York Retreat Center goes totally solar

The Marian Shrine and Don Bosco Retreat Center in Stony Point, New York, is now powered by solar energy. Over 1,000 solar panels are installed on the roof of the retreat house conference center. These provide enough solar energy to power all the buildings on the 200-acre campus of the shrine which includes ten buildings. The Salesians have also adopted a recycling program in collaboration with the local government. Recycling charts are posted in all the major spaces on campus.
