Workshop on Mushroom Cultivation (Oyster Mushrooms, Pleurotus ostreatus)

Don Bosco Cares for our Common Home (DBCCH) conducted a Workshop on Mushroom cultivation on campus for the students. The workshop’s main objective is to learn about the process of mushroom cultivation and the pros and cons of mushroom cultivation.

Students were very enthusiastic to learn the process of Mushroom Cultivation and do it in the Mushroom shed, on campus. The following processes were carried out for the Mushroom Cultivation. The paddy straws were cut and soaked in water for 12 hours; then, it was boiled and shade dried. After which, the bagging was done with the mushroom seeds and paddy straw and hung in the mushroom shed. Students were very happy to learn and execute mushroom cultivation and become an entrepreneur.
