From November 06 to 18, the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, better known as COP27, is being held in Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt) under the slogan "Together for implementation".

The starting point of this Conference is the so-called Paris Agreement of December 12, 2015, within the framework of COP21, in which world leaders approved a historic agreement to curb climate change. COP27 focuses on the need to act and move from promises and announcements to concrete results and actions on the ground.

The Conference has organized thematic days to address major concerns in a structured manner. Thus, 9 November focuses on finance; 10 on science, youth and future generations; 11 on decarbonization; 12 on adaptation, agriculture and food systems; 14 on gender and water; 15 on energy, 16 on biodiversity and 17 on solutions.

We are aware that education is a fundamental tool to create healthy habits, modify customs and teach the citizens of the future that it is possible to live on this planet by making more responsible and sustainable consumption. It is key to promote good environmental practices among students, teachers and families, generate collective awareness about the problems that beset our environment, and know the impact and individual influence on the resolution and prevention of environmental problems.

With this activity, we wanted to bring students and families closer to the COP27 Climate Change Conference through participation in the My Climate Action photo contest (supported by the UN) the students of the School have researched different actions to take care of the planet and have been informed about some aspects of the Conference.

In Salesians, we are in action, because we know that to transform the world it is not enough to have good intentions and that we must never forget that small grains of sand create great beaches.
