Catemu Salesian Agricultural School, Chile implements use of photovoltaic panels
Since 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, the Catemu Salesian Agricultural School is operating with photovoltaic panels, thus covering 70% of the energy expenditure of both the school and our farm, a transcendental milestone in our journey through a greener world.
In the words of our rector, Miss Nataly Araya, "it is a concrete act in reducing the carbon footprint and the realization of a dream for the community." With this implementation, we not only reduce the institution's energy consumption, but we also adhere to country goals within the plan presented by Enel Chile "Roadmap for the Energy Transition in Chile"; we also become a living example for our commune.
This step demonstrates, once again, the commitment of the Regional Agro Ecological Center that was founded in this school, which aspires to train our youth with a strong sense of sustainability, thus allowing the perpetuation of human development in their environment.
