THE 2nd ECO LA PIEDAD 2022 Contest Is Coming

From September 17 to October 4

From September 17 (World Cleanup Day) to October 4 (Saint Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of Ecology) the Eco La Piedad Contest will be held at the Salesian house at La Piedad, in Bahía Blanca.

The contest has two competitions: 3 R (separation of waste at source and final disposal for recycling) and Eco-knowledge contest.

As for the 3 R competition, after motivating the educational community to separate waste at its source in homes and also in the Salesian house, everyone is invited to bring the classified waste to the ECOGALPON for three weeks.

In said competition, last year 2 tons of paper and cardboard, 12,000 tetrapak and aluminium containers and 13,000 plastic containers were separated. The activities are carried out in turn, through competitions between groups, as one more stimulus in the conscious and responsible management of the waste we generate. This year it is expected to double what has been achieved since another event called “Recycling Weeks” was also incorporated in the first part of the year.

The contest concludes with another great competition called ECO-SABER, within the framework of another school event called "intertribus", lasting three days, one of which is called "ECO day". More than 50 teams of students are expected to participate in the ECO KNOW competition, who will previously investigate ecological issues, to respond to the instructions in an appropriate manner before the educational community.

The ECO LA PIEDAD Contest, in turn, is part of the TIME OF CREATION, proposed by Pope Francis, between September 1 (World Day for the Care of Creation) and October 4 (Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi)
