Nairobi, Kenya
In the month of February 2022, Don Bosco Tech Africa organized an Advocacy, Networking, and Partnership building workshop for Job Service Officers. Eleven of these JSOs were selected to participate in the Training of Trainers workshop from 9th to 13th May 2022.
The main objective of the training was to equip JSOs with skills and knowledge to conduct similar training on advocacy, networking, and partnership building in their respective centres and Provinces. They are expected to train the Local Job Service Officers (L-JSOs) to ensure continuity of the program. Different training methodologies were used which included PowerPoint presentations, role plays, digital online tools, group discussions, brainstorming, videos, and appreciative interview.
The facilitators from the Centre for Urban-Rural Youth Development Programmes (CURYDP) led by their team leader Mr Elikana Epiche expressed their gratitude to Don Bosco Tech Africa for giving them the opportunity to share their expertise. They also thanked the participants for their enthusiasm and active participation and urged them to extend the knowledge gained to others to ensure the extraordinary transformation of Don Bosco TVET centres in Africa and Madagascar.
In his concluding remarks, Br. John Njuguna, Deputy Director Don Bosco Tech Africa urged the participants to ensure the sustainability of this training through the transfer of knowledge and skills gained to the Local Job Service Officers.
