Harvest time at Recanto da Cruz Grande, Brazil
Over the months the students at Recanto da Cruz Grande, Brazil have been preparing the seedlings, the soil, planting and looking after the garden and this week the most eagerly awaited moment has arrived: the harvest of the vegetables.
The action is part of one of the strands of study in the Guardians workshop.
As well as harvesting, the students wash the food and hand it over to our cook, who will lovingly prepare a special dish so that they can taste what they themselves have planted.
The aim is to encourage healthier eating and promote contact with the environment.
