Activities at Salesian School Ángela Segovia de Serrano in Mexico State
The institutional project of Salesian School Ángela Segovia de Serrano in Mexico State began 5 years ago wherein they got to know Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Sí” and also the 2030 Agenda from ONU, and complemented them both with each other.
This year they are undertaking a couple of things that are very important - the first is to recycle PET bottles in order to take it to the community center and in exchange the students receive a plant or food, if it´s food, students give it to the people of the neighborhood.
Also there is a heart shaped structure installed in the school for which students collect bottle caps and these bottle caps are given to help children with the terrible disease of cancer. This school year, they are helping a little girl called Gracen who is only 2 years old.
We applaud the efforts of this school in taking care of our common home and in extending a helping hand to the needy.
