Kinshasa Salesian Youth celebrate Salesian Mission Day 2023

On March 19, the youth of the Salesian Mission Group in Kinshasa celebrated Salesian Mission Day 2023 on the theme promoted by the Missions Sector "Care for Creation - Our Mission." The event was held inside the botanical garden in Kinshasa with the participation of about 100 young people from various Salesian works of the Africa Congo VP (ACC). Salesians Fr. Jacques Isha and Fr. Christian Balabakeba, leaders of the group, urged the young people to become more aware of the responsibility everyone has before Creation, and that this must culminate in concrete gestures and actions in favor of the environment. After Mass, a poetry contest was held on the day's theme, which was immediately afterward presented and explored by experts from the NGO "Bomoyi Ya Lobi," which works in the environmental sector. Its practitioners spoke about the responsibility to protect the ecosystem and environment and sustainable waste management. After the presentations, there was a time for dialogue to explore some of the topics discussed. To make the appeal concrete, the young missionaries also cleaned the entire botanical garden of waste. The day ended with Fr. Isha's "good night" and the final blessing.
