Last Tuesday, May 31, the protocol act and the symbolic planting of 23 trees took place at the Beato Felipe Rinaldi Salesian Postnovitiate as an opening to the alliance made between the San Luis Beltrán Province and the Valle de Aburrá Metropolitan Area with the presence of the directors of both entities and the delegate of Don Bosco Mondo Mrs. Claudia Ebinger.

Within the framework of the project called "Promotion and development of environmental culture in social works and educational services of the San Luis Beltrán Province", sponsored by Don Bosco Mondo of Germany, the signing of alliances with national and departmental entities was planned. that favor the execution of impact activities such as planting trees.

To fulfill this purpose, for more than 1 year, contacts were made with the Metropolitan Area to achieve an alliance that would allow the planting of trees in the facilities of the Salesian Post-Novitiate in the municipality of Copacabana, Antioquia. After several visits to review the land and see the feasibility of planting, it was possible to plant 3,800 trees in an area of ​​approximately 24,045 m2, this intervention seeks not only to beautify the area in question, but also to improve the processes of infiltration of water, taking care of water sources, favoring the ecological connectivity of the area and providing shade and food for the enjoyment of people and animals and even, given the available species, being a genetic reservoir of native species or a living laboratory to evaluate the behavior of these species in the metropolitan area.
