Anisakan,Pyin Oo Lwin, Myanmar, 6 October 2026: Around 600 attendees gathered at Anisakan on Sunday, 4 October, to mark the official conclusion of the Season of Creation 2026. The day-long event, held on the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, brought together local youth, families, clergy, and religious organizers for prayer, education, and hands-on conservation efforts.
Jointly organized by the Salesian Family, Don Bosco Green Alliance - MYM, and SYM/SYS - MYM, the day began at 9 AM with a Holy Mass celebrated by Fr Bosco Aung Zaw Win, SDB.
This year’s theme, "Living Water" — inspired by the Book of Ezekiel — served as the centerpiece for spiritual reflection throughout the month-long season, which began on 1 September. Following the morning liturgy, Sr. Justina, FMA, delivered a keynote talk addressing the urgent need to combat water pollution and waste. She invited the participants to stand in solidarity with communities lacking clean drinking water and drawing parallels to the biblical account of the Samaritan woman at the well, encouraging attendees to embrace personal renewal in their stewardship of the earth.
Following a shared vegetarian lunch prepared by local parish families and donors, attendees put faith into practice. From 1 PM to 3:30 PM, participants engaged in direct environmental action across the grounds, including tree planting, weeding, and litter cleanup, followed by community discussion groups.
The event also featured cultural dance performances by students of Romero and Mornese and Salesian novices, decorated altars crafted by Mornese Convent, and a closing prayer service led by Fr David and Salesian Novices.
While the official liturgical season has ended, organizers noted that participants left with a shared commitment to continue environmental protection practices in their daily lives.
