(ANS – Addis Ababa) – From 17 to 19 August, the continental conference organised by “Don Bosco Tech Africa” and the African Union (AU) Department of Education, Science and Technology, entitled “Empowering Africa’s Youth through Harmonised and Strengthened TVET Systems”, took place in Addis Ababa at the African Union (AU) headquarters. Over a hundred policy-makers, regulators and experts took part. On the second day, dedicated to the green transition, Fr Savio Silveira, of the “Don Bosco Green Alliance”, outlined the triple planetary crisis (climate, pollution, biodiversity) and proposed a Green Economy based on green skills, innovation and entrepreneurship, calling on TVET institutions to adopt the UNESCO-UNEVOC framework to train young Africans for a sustainable economy.
