CEST Receives “Huella Chile” Certifications for Environmental Management

As part of the National Day celebrations, CEST received official notification from the Ministry of the Environment confirming that it has been awarded the 2025 Organizational Quantification Seal and the 2025 Organizational Reduction Seal under the Huella Chile Program. The educational community also received the corresponding certificates of recognition.

Rector Reinaldo Castro praised the achievement of both certifications, which recognize the work carried out by CEST to measure and reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. “These milestones validate the work we’ve done alongside the Comprehensive Ecology Committee and the entire community to measure and reduce our emissions, which motivates us to continue strengthening our environmental management,” he said.

Benjamín Sánchez, a 2nd-year DTP student, highlighted the importance of this recognition and his experience with environmental conservation activities. “This is great for us because we know that when we all look out for one another, we’re also taking care of our environment. This reflects what our teachers have taught us,” he said.

The head of the Comprehensive Ecology Committee noted that the seals are the result of the work carried out throughout the year in environmental education and extracurricular activities with students, teachers, and teaching assistants. “We hope to continue making progress toward earning the seals of excellence, which will show that we are fostering awareness and practices to care for our common home and look out for one another,” he concluded.
