Myanmar – Opening ceremony for the Season of Creation

(ANS – Anisakan) – The opening ceremony for the Season of Creation took place at Nazareth House in Anisakan on 1 September 2026, marking the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. The initiative, promoted by the Catholic Church and the Don Bosco Green Alliance, involves the Salesian Family and the faithful worldwide in a journey of prayer and concrete commitment running from 1 September to 4 October 2026. The theme chosen for this year is “Living Water”, inspired by the prophet Ezekiel (47:9, 12). Water is presented as a source of life, a sign of the renewal of faith and the grace of the Holy Spirit, but also as a reminder of our responsibility in the face of current environmental crises, including the scarcity of drinking water and the pollution of rivers, lakes and oceans. The day began with a Holy Mass presided over by Fr Leo Nang Khan Mang, SDB, and concluded with moments of prayer, reflection, dance, singing and the final blessing imparted by the priests present.
